Ringu 2 is the sequel of Ringu, the masterpiece from Hideo Nakata. This movie is a part of a triology of three stories namely Ring, Loop and Sprial by Koji Suzuki.Mai Takano (Miki Nakatani) is investigating the death of Ryuji, her boyfriend. Soon she discovers the information about the cursed video tape of Sadako Yamamura who died long time back. Poeple die exactly after one week of watching the said tape. Takano soon learns that Ryuji's son Youichi (Rikiya Otaka), is developing the same power, which Sadako used to possess as a child. She tries her best to save little Youichi and herself from being the next victims of Sadako.
A great sequel of a greater movie by one of the best Japanese directors. But definitely this movie fails to do justice to the Ringu. The not-so-tight story makes this movie mediocre especially from the point of story telling capabilities. Acting and cinematogrpahy are quite good and even the background score is blended pretty well.
