Kairo aka Pulse, written and directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa can easily give a tough competition to movies like The Others, Ringu and The Sixth Sense.
A young group of Tokyo residents began to experience strange incidents after one of their friend committed suicide. The vision of the dead friend appeared through shadows on the wall; another resident saw ghostly images on the computer screen. Was the dead trying to make contacts?
Kairo was a fantastic dark supernatural horror movie. It was a horror movie based on the loneliness of the individual. Cinematography was excellent and well accompanied with the high ranked skills of the director. Even the background score suited the film pretty well, enough to give occasional goosebumps. A must watch for all J-Horror enthusiasts.
