Kimyo Na Sakasu aka The Maid was written and directed by Kelvin Tong.
The gates of hell open and the spirits are set free on the unsuspecting world during the seventh Chinese month. The dead stays with mortal for a month. People devised rules to save themselves. But 18 years old Rosa Dimaano (Alessandra De Rossi) only considered it to be an old wives' tales. She came to Singapore from a very small village to work as a maid. She was employed by Mr. Teo (Shucheng Chen) and Mrs. Teo (Huifeng Hong) who had a handicapped son Ah Soon (Benny Soh). Rosa was happy until this began to change. She had broken many rules on the first day of the seventh month, unknowingly. Her life turned into a nightmare and she was haunted by a faceless woman and a mutilated boy. But to keep her job, she had to work.
This movie contained all the basic ingredients of Asian horror movies. The storyline and style was quite mediocre. Initially the movie held its audience in suspense, but at the later end it became a bit length and boring.
