Uccell Dalle Piume Di Cristallo, L - 1970

The Girl With Crystal Plumage is an Italian thriller directed by Dario Argento. The actual name of the movie is "Uccello dalle piume di cristallo, L'" and was released in 1970.

An American writer Sam Dalmas (Tony Musante), who lived in Paris with his girlfriend Julia (Suzi Kendall), one day witnessed the attack of a woman named Monica in an art gallery by a mysterious man dressed in black gloves and raincoat. In order to save Monica (Eva Renzi), the wife of the owner of the art gallery, Sam got trapped inside the empty space between two automatic door panels.

The local police confiscate the passport of Sam as they considered him to be an important witness. Sam was haunted by what he saw that night and soon he realised that he and his girlfriend are the new targets of the killer. Sam chases the mysterious figure inside a building only to find out that the killer is none other than the deranged wife of the art gallery owner. In the climax, the lady killer wanted to stab Sam with the knife but obviously she failed.

This is a typical classic thriller movie. There is not much presence of graphical violence though. The shots of murder in this movie was not shown directly. You will not hear a loud scream and blood splatters on the floor. It has failed to hold the suspense completely through out the movie, sometimes it becomes too slow for a thriller. Overall a good movie if you like movies of Alfred Hitchcock.
