1920 - 2008

Now we do have some scary or semi-scary desi-horrors. Gone are the good old days of Ramsay Brothers. 1920 was directed by Vikram Bhatt and was able to generate a decent reviews and reactions in different medias, which actually inspired me to watch it.

The story goes back to 1920 where an educated young couple eloped. There parents opposed as they were from different religions. Though there were no Shiv Senas. The guy was an architect and was asked to redesign and reconstruct an old Haveli into a Hotel. The couple shifted to that Haveli to have a better feel of it. Soon the girl was possessed by the Evils. The movie started like The Shinning initially, when the couple moved to the Haveli. Later you will find similar scenes lifted from movies like The Exorcist, Grudge, Ringu etc. It has failed to shiver me. Even the background score is pretty poor. The most irritating parts are the couple of songs in a horror flick.
